SHIBORI
It is also a resist dye technique originated in Japan and later travelled to various parts of world. The Shibori technique has known history of about 1300 years. The word comes from Shiboru meaning to press or to wring. The name refers to the action performed on the fabric for embellishment before dyeing.
A few different technics of Shibori are Miura Shibori, Arashi Shibori, Kumo Shibori, Nui Shibori, Suji Shibori.

Process:
In tie and die technic in the desired pattern seeds are bonded very tightly with the help of thread so the dye does not reach in that portion. The rest of the area absorbs the colour to create the design.
Nui Shibori also known as stitched shibori requires more expertise as through sartorial skills the design is made. The Cloth is folded such way and stitched according to design. Then the stitched fabric is given a dye bath to create the design on cloth. After drying of cloth each stitch taken before dyeing is removed and the embellished fabric gets ready.
There are unlimited number of ways to create irregular shapes by sewing though a single layer of fabric, bind, stitch,fold,twist or compress cloth for Shibori, and each way results in very different patterns. The artist meticulously takes each stitch to create a graceful and unique pattern to adore it in your wardrobe.
