TARAPUR PRINT

The Tarapur print art was developed by an innovative craftsman Late Shri Purushottam ji Jhariya, foreseeing the challenges of changing taste of customers from Nandana due to socio-economic reasons. This art is fusion of hand block printing arts namely Alizarin and Dabu. While Dabu is done in Indigo dye, the Alizarin is done in red and black dyes. initially the alizarin art is performed with Sahi Begar on the fabric to get the prints in natural Red & black colour. In the next stage Dabu resist process is done with Indigo for blue back ground. To get green and yellow shade, Indigo dyed fabric again dyed with Pomegranate peel dye.
